Rina's room

My cousin sister (Rina) who tragically passed away almost two years ago.
She, like my self, was a great lover of art and design. This room in Leicester Peepul Centre is for lovers of art and design to come to and be creative. Art classes are run and work by Rina is also displayed.

Rina used to run art classes for the Leicester elderly and disabled community. Its good to see she still doing it.

So all in all a nice day, went to do some shopping in Leicester but I'm thinking I might aswell wait till I get back to London. Also I found a new love, peeling the shells of cooked chestnuts.

This is the las i keep banging on about. I really enjoy her style, very unique...and you wouldnt believe that she just uses Indian Ink in most of her images.

trip down memory lane...

So its sunday...
I was just sitting in the house watching West brom Vs Man city, a pretty boring game to be honest. Although one of the city strikers looks like Zippy from rainbow which was quite funny.
I decided to dust away the cobwebs and look at some sketchbook work from the past...

This of one of three posters I made for D&AD competition which was to design a horror festival poster. I recall covering mannequins with brown gum tape and photographing them in a studio. Then I picked out typographical shadows and cut these out in photoshop. An M/M paris type face was a big inspiration that gave me the idea for this.

The last of these portraits was done in Indian Ink in the style of Sophie Toulouse.
Infact I dont know why I haven't put any of Sophie Toulouse's work up yet, I think she is one of the best contemporary illustrators going.

Our manifesto

This is a rough cut video of the manefesto that me, Lizzy Gove, Tommy Allen, Stephane Iffel and Matt gaffen created. The manifesto is about breaking boundaries and building tunnels when working together. I like to call it breaking boundaries and building boxes
